We are looking for a part time staff member to support our project on ‘The Development of Joint Research Initiatives on the Role of Oxidised Lipids in Blood–Brain Barrier Dysfunction and Therapeutic Targeting Strategies’.

The successful candidate will provide essential administrative, logistical, and research support to ensure the smooth delivery of the project to include plans and administration involved with meetings, scoping visits, seminar, partnership workshop and pilot studies. Their contribution will strengthen coordination across institutions, enhance documentation quality, and enable senior researchers to focus on strategic partnership building and co design of the research agenda.

Tasks include:
 
· Support data collection activities from a focus group
· Assist with organising and delivering activity‑based sessions or workshops
· Help maintain accurate project documentation, records, and participant logs
· Conduct background research and literature searches
· Assist with data entry, basic analysis, and preparation of research summaries
· Provide administrative support (scheduling, communication, materials preparation)
· Contribute to the planning and evaluation of pilot activities and research
 · Support dissemination tasks such as preparing slides, posters, or short reports
 
This role will provide an early career researcher with hands on experience in international collaboration, research administration, and partnership development by getting an opportunity to contribute ideas that will shape the project. They will gain practical research experience for CV or postgraduate applications. It also offers excellent value for money by delivering high quality support at a cost-effective staffing level.
 

Candidate and Skills Requirements:

We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated and organised student who is interested in gaining hands-on experience in research, project coordination, and activity-based engagement. The ideal candidate is curious, reliable, punctual, proactive, have technical skills, strong time management and attention to details, clear written and verbal communication skills, comfortable working both independently and as part of a small team, comfortable working in dynamic, activity‑based environments, professional and committed to ethical research practice.

Desirable (but not essential):

· Experience supporting events, workshops, or outreach activities

· Prior involvement in research projects (coursework or extracurricular)

This role is well-suited for students studying fields such as human biology, biomedical science, public health, or related disciplines, but all motivated applicants will be considered.

Other Information

Rate of Pay: £16.72 per hour

Working Hours: 9am-5pm (1 day a week)

Working Location : On‑site position, based at the Kedleston road campus.
 
Length of Role: to September 2026 (start date subject to timely completion of the Right to Work check)
