We are looking for a confident and proficient interpreter who can form a good working relationship with the delegates and use their initiative to adapt quickly to any situations that may arise.

The University of Derby is responsible for designing and delivering the Rolls-Royce Customer Leadership Development Programme.

This programme is offered to Rolls-Royce customers who operate Rolls-Royce products and services, and many of the airlines coming to Derby for this programme are Chinese.

All the programme modules are given in English and to improve the delegate learning experience and to help co-ordinate the programme there is an opportunity for a fluent Chinese speaker to do interpreting.

The programmes are designed for middle to senior management level and the modules cover a whole range of business topics including Transformation, Supply Chain and Strategy. Also, during the programme delegates will have the opportunity to visit various Rolls-Royce factories so the ability to translate technical as well as business dialogue is essential.

The programmes typically run for 2 weeks and there are 3 programmes left to delivery this year.

· 7 to 19 September

· 12 to 23 October

· 16 to 27 November

Candidate and Skills Requirements:

  • A competent Chinese speaker who can translate business and technical dialogue.
  • Someone who can build a good working relationship and adapt to last minute changes.
  • Someone who has a professional and confident approach.

Other Information:

Pay Rate: £13.99 per hour

Working Hours: 08:00 to 16:00 when the Customer Leadership Development Programmes are running.

Length of Contract: The contract will offer 6 weeks work over a 3 month period (September to November).

Start Date: 7th September

End Date of Role: 27th November
