What you will be doing:
· Oversee the day-to-day operations of the conferencing venues, ensuring delivery to the highest standard.
· Overseeing all on-site logistics for the venues, including setup, delegate registration, catering, and technical support.
· Welcome and registering clients/attendees upon arrival, ensuring an efficient and friendly check-in process.
· Direct delegates to appropriate locations across University of Derby Venues, providing clear directions and mobility assistance where required.
· First point of contact for attendee & client enquiries, resolving issues promptly or escalating them to the appropriate team member when necessary.
· Assist with various on-the-day logistics such as signage placement, materials distribution, and any other duties as instructed by the Conference Team.
Candidate and Skills Requirements:
· Experience of working in the customer service industry
· Experience of establishing, building, and maintaining relationships with your customers.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships.
· Creativity and problem-solving abilities.
· Flexibility and adaptability.
· Strong time management.
· Good understanding and experience in delivering excellent customer service.
· Passion for what you do and a strong desire to succeed.
· Willingness and flexibility to work between university sites and external venues.
Other Information
Pay Rate: £12.98 per hour
Working Hours: Ad Hoc depending
Length of Contract: Zero-hour contract, mainly covering evening and weekend
Start Date: January 2026
