As a Digital Learning Assistant, you will support the development, testing, and assurance of high-quality digital learning experiences across our digital learning ecosystem. Working closely with the digital learning team, academic and professional services staff, you will help ensure our learning platforms are consistent, accessible, and intuitive for students. This role is an excellent opportunity for students interested in digital learning, user experience, and emerging technologies such as AI agents.
Key Responsibilities:
· Support the Digital Learning Baseline Assurance process by reviewing digital learning materials, checking for consistency, accessibility, and compliance with institutional standards. · Test the student user experience across desktop and mobile, providing clear feedback on navigation, layout, functionality, and overall usability. · Evaluate and document the Digital Learning Ecosystem mobile experience, including Blackboard, apps, and integrated tools, identifying improvements and reporting issues. · Assist with the development and testing of AI Agents, including prompt creation, workflow design, and quality assurance. · Design, review, and update online guides for staff and students to support digital learning tools, ensuring they are clear, accessible, and user-friendly.-friendly. · Support academic staff with their digital teaching practice, offering guidance on using learning technologies effectively and consistently.
Candidate and Skills Requirements:
Essential
· Comfortable using a Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) e.g. Blackboard
· Interest in AI tools, agents, or automation, including prompt writing or workflow testing.
· Strong organisation skills with excellent attention to detail.
· Ability to problem-solve minor technical issues or identify when to escalate them.
· Able to work collaboratively, follow instructions, and contribute positively to team tasks.
Desirable
· Experience in digital learning, higher education delivery, or learning technologies.
· Awareness of accessibility principles and the clear, inclusive presentation of digital materials.
· Familiarity with a range of digital learning tools, such as Microsoft 365, screen capture tools, quiz/assessment platforms, PebblePad, or media creation tools-capture tools, quiz/assessment platforms
· Experience creating or editing digital guides, FAQs, or tutorials.
· Ability to test digital tools and learning environments and provide clear, constructive feedback.
Pay Rate: £13.99 per hour
Proposed Interview Date: Thursday 26th February
Working Hours: 20 hours per week
Length of Contract: 20 weeks
Proposed Start Date: 9th March 2026
